This consent is collected in accordance with the NMC Telemedicine Practice Guidelines, 2020, the CCIM Telemedicine Advisory, the IT Act, 2000, and the DPDP Act, 2023.
Telemedicine consultation at HEAL Ayurveda Wellness is offered to provide accessible, high-quality Ayurvedic care to patients who may not be able to attend in person. Providing informed consent ensures you understand the nature, scope, and limitations of this service.
1. What is Telemedicine?
Telemedicine is the delivery of health consultation services using audio-visual communication technology. At HEAL Ayurveda Wellness:
Consultations are conducted via Jitsi Meet, a secure, browser-based video platform.
No application download is required. The session link is provided at booking and works directly in your browser.
Supported browsers: Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and Apple Safari (latest versions recommended).
2. What Telemedicine CAN Do
Initial Ayurvedic consultation for non-emergency conditions.
Follow-up consultations for known, chronic conditions already under management.
Personalised Ayurvedic diet and lifestyle advice (Ahara-Vihara).
Referral for pathological investigations and diagnostic tests.
Review and interpretation of existing test reports.
Prescription of classical Ayurvedic medicines (issued digitally via the patient portal or email).
3. What Telemedicine CANNOT Do
The following assessments and services require an in-person visit and cannot be conducted via telemedicine:
Physical examination: Sparsha pariksha (palpation), general physical assessment.
Nadi Pariksha (Pulse Diagnosis): Classical Ayurvedic pulse assessment requires physical contact and cannot be conducted remotely.
Panchakarma initiation: All Panchakarma procedures (Vamana, Virechana, Basti, Nasya, Raktamokshana) and their preparatory stages (Poorvakarma) must always begin in person at the clinic.
Emergency care: This platform is not staffed or equipped for medical emergencies. Call 112 for emergencies.
4. Your Rights During the Teleconsult
You have the right to end the teleconsult session at any time without any obligation.
You have the right to request an in-person consultation instead of or following a teleconsult.
You have the right to have a family member or caregiver present with you during the consultation.
You have the right to receive your digital prescription via the patient portal or email within 24 hours of the consultation.
5. Privacy During the Teleconsult
HEAL Ayurveda Wellness does not record any video or audio of teleconsultation sessions.
Patients must ensure they are in a private, quiet environment during the consultation to protect their own confidentiality.
Do not use public or shared Wi-Fi networks for teleconsultation. Use a private, secure internet connection.
The doctor will verify patient identity at the start of each session before the consultation begins.
Your medical records discussed during the teleconsult are stored securely in the HMS as per our Privacy Policy.
6. Technical Requirements
Internet connection: Stable broadband or mobile data with a minimum speed of 1 Mbps.
Device: Smartphone, tablet, or desktop/laptop with a working camera and microphone.
Lighting: Ensure good, clear lighting on your face so the doctor can observe visible clinical signs.
Join the session 2–3 minutes early to test your connection and camera.
7. Consent Declaration
By proceeding with a telemedicine appointment at HEAL Ayurveda Wellness, you confirm your understanding and acceptance of each of the following:
☑I understand that this is a telemedicine consultation conducted via video or audio.
☑I understand that Jitsi Meet is used as the video platform and that no app download is required.
☑I confirm that I am consulting from a private and secure location.
☑I am aware of the limitations of telemedicine compared to an in-person consultation, including the inability to conduct Nadi Pariksha and physical examination remotely.
☑I consent to my medical history and consultation details being recorded in the HEAL HMS for the purpose of my ongoing care.
☑I agree to provide accurate, complete, and truthful health information during the consultation.
☑I understand that this is not an emergency service, and that in a medical emergency I will call 112 or go to the nearest hospital casualty immediately.
☑I consent to receiving my prescription and clinical summary digitally via my patient portal or email.
